What exactly IS AGAPE?

Agape (pronounced "ah-GAH-peh") is the Greek word for divine, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. Love seen as spiritual and selfless and a model for humanity.

It is the kind of love that we must have for all men. We must always act out of love and in the best interest of our fellow human beings. It is a principle by which we deliberately live.

References to love that are AGAPE are used frequently in the New Testament. They reflect a very high form of love representative of the love that God demonstrated towards us, through the sacrifice of Christ upon the cross.
